All GP practices are contracted to provide ‘essential services’ that is basic treatment of people who are ill. We also provide the following ‘additional services’:
- Minor surgery
- Cervical smears
- Travel immunisations for adults and children
- Freezing of warts and other small lesions
We also hold contracts for the following 'enhanced services':
- An annual flu immunisation programme to protect the elderly and at risk
- Anti-coagulant monitoring
- Childhood immunisation
- Extended minor surgery
- Chronic disease/long term drug therapy monitoring
- Shared care monitoring of patients with renal anaemia
- Monitoring of adults with learning disabilities
- Support of carers
- COPD rehabilitation and anticipatory care
- Care of adults with diabetes
- Alcohol screening and brief intervention
- Hib vaccine for young children catch-up programme: post pre-school immunisation
